The client needed to implement a standardized reporting capability on sustainability performance from a strategic level down to an operational level in a short period of time. They wanted to be able to track results, progress and performance of the sustainability programs and projects in a consistent manner from a global, regional, country, brands, production and supply chain perspective vs their goals.
It was critical to their sustainability program as it supports the decision making and optimum allocation of resources and allows timely visibility of program effectiveness to support their ability to communicate internally and externally on their overall progress.
Consultants from the RXP Insights team set about to address the above challenges and proposed changes are made to the following;
- Implementation of a user-friendly self-service analytics and reporting system (Microsoft Power BI)
- Building and maintaining a data quality, data ingestion and data transformation process (Alteryx Data Prep and Blending)
- Create business-friendly, intuitive and value-adding dashboards so the business can quickly make decisions based on trusted data.
- Implement an ongoing process whereby the client can manage the changes in the data themselves and not rely on outside support.
- Publish the reports to relevant parties on mobile, tablet and desktop/laptops.
The outcomes & benefits
The client has put performance dashboards into practice and business users now have a comprehensive view of the effectiveness of the program on a monthly basis, which enables them to make an effective decision on program implementation and develop new initiatives to achieve their 2020 goals.
